Apple Breakfast Cake

This apple breakfast cake is so good and easy to make, you'll want to have it all the time! Seriously, at our house, we make it once a week.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 large apple

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. Dice the apple and place it in a 10-inch cast iron skillet with the butter. Sprinkle cinnamon over the apples and sauté over medium heat until the butter is melted. Remove from heat.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, egg, and milk.

  4. Pour the flour mixture evenly over the apples.

  5. Bake for approximately 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving Suggestions

At our house, apple breakfast cake is a favorite, even for our toddler! We like it topped with yogurt and a drizzle of maple syrup.

It's an easy make-ahead breakfast, too!

Storage and Reheating

Store in the refrigerator for 2–3 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Reheat in the microwave, oven, or air fryer. It's also delicious cold for a snack on the go!
