Why Indisposable Life?

Indisposable Life is about sustainability in all areas,

which has to be unique for each individual. It’s not about perfection, because too often we think of something as being unattainable because we can’t get it perfect and so we don’t try. It’s about relishing the resources of life.

Physical Resources We live in a throw-away society. One time-use plastic bottles, plastic bags, and plastic containers are everywhere so much the norm. Creating an Indisposable Life can mean thinking ahead–bringing reusable containers, bags, bottles, etc. with you. It can mean thinking about how to reuse the single-use items (for example, we use plastic shopping bags as garbage bags in a small bin underneath the sink). It also means giving yourself grace when you need to purchase something that will be thrown out after it’s used.

Food Though food is obviously a physical resource, it gets its own category because we use it differently. Having food be Indisposable is more than just food waste–though that's important–it’s also thinking about what goes into our food. Sometimes, it’s making it ourselves or buying it locally or from ensuring it has organic ingredients. It’s also thinking about the container it came from and what we do with that container after we’ve eaten it.

Time Perhaps our most valuable resource is how we spend our days. Living Indisposably does not mean we never waste time, but it means being conscious of how time is spent.

It’s about creating a life where we’re not burnt out.
