National Spouses Day

Happy Spouses Day to all who celebrate. Or, if you have a spouse and therefore are a spouse, even if you didn’t know it was Spouses Day, happy day too.

Spouses Day was founded in 1996 by Thomas and Ruth Roy. Considered to be a “non-gifting” holiday, spouses are rather encouraged to spend time with one another or just show each other appreciation.

So, to my husband, I would like to say thank you.

Thank you for raising our daughter with me. I love watching you two interact and learn from each other.

Thank you for working on yourself and understanding that I’m still working on myself and having the patience and communication as we figure this thing out together.

Thank you for all the time you spend in the kitchen. You’ve made countless dinners, packed lunches, made bread and soup stock, loaded the dish washer, and filled water bottles.

Thank you for supporting my dreams and goals, even when they seem unattainable to me, and for encouraging my adventurous side and even joining in on some adventures.

Most of all, thank you for being you and sharing your life with me and now with our little girl.

I love you.

If you are celebrating with someone today, let your spouse know what you appreciate about them. And on Thursday, January 29th, check back in to read about five (more) things I wished I had known about babies.

Thanks for reading!

💜
