10 Things I am Grateful For

November is the month where we pause to remember what we have. It is the time of gratitude. Though Thanksgiving is at the end of the month, the whole of November is Gratitude Month.

Finding beauty in the little things

Here is my list of What I am Grateful For:

  1. S. I am grateful that I have a child, that she is healthy and happy and that I have this time to witness her learning and growing.

  2. My husband. I am grateful that he is supportive of my dreams and goals and who loves S and me so much.

  3. Having my mom and my sister close by! I've lived in New Orleans for ten years and Pennsylvania for six years before that. It's so nice having them close by again.

  4. My in-laws. They live ten miles away, so we're at their house regularly and they've been tremendous help with so many things from rides to babysitting to helping us get our new house set up.

  5. Friends. Whether from childhood, college, or as an adult, I am grateful for the people who have stood by me with friendship, love, and support.

  6. The woods. I love living with the woods right behind us. S and I are in them, exploring, just about every day.

  7. The Internet. That's giving my writing a home in the form of this blog!

  8. My cats. I had to put down my sweet Catsby a few months ago, but I am grateful for my other two.

  9. My plants. My garden might have moved inside, but I’m grateful that I still have some plants.

  10. Everyone who is reading my blog! I’m so grateful to all of you!

Taking Time for Gratitude

I think taking some time to reflect on what we have is so important. Life gets so busy, and we’re so often stressed, just trying to get through the day or rushing from one thing to another. Life is challenging, and sometimes painful, but it still has so much beauty and joy.

What about you? What brings you joy? What things are you grateful for? I’d love to hear!
